Toshiba Satellite A505-S6999 Overview
In this video I will be going over the main features of the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6999 laptop. In future videos, I will be reporting on my experience with the laptop with its various accessories I will be using it with. My work provided me with this laptop (thank you work!) and it is…

Good review….. Love Toshiba
Great vid! I’m retired from the Air Force so I shop at AAFES. I picked up a Toshiba A505-S6009 the other day. My windows score is 5.0 with an NVidia GeForce 310M video card. Price was $819 tax free. A great deal, no blu ray, but prefer to watch 1080P on my 55″. Can’t tell a difference between Blu Ray and DVD on a laptop because I’m half blind. This is my first Toshiba, wife has an HP but I like mine better, sorry dear. Good reputation with Toshiba, should keep running for several years.
I’m sorry I’m not familiar with this model. Good luck!
I should have not mentioned the price. My mistake. You’ll always get “ripped off” on computers since the technology is always advancing basically every day, therefore rendering yesterday’s (literally) technology to be outdated and overpriced compared to today’s technology.
@buckwheat40 I don’t think this guy cares…
Oh man you should have waited. Toshiba has some pretty nice laptops out now fow a great price. I just bought the Hp dv6-2170us with the i5 processor, similar to the new toshiba. Great computer for 849$
Does anyone know anything about the A505-S6040? It’s like 1200 dollars I think, sounds good, anyone know?
great review man
@flatron61900 In my experience, Best Buy never has the best deals. This thing called the “internet” usually will find products cheaper than what you can find at Best Buy. Plus, if I bought at Best Buy, I would have to pay for taxes.
@flatron61900 They don’t sell this model and at the time I bought it, it was fair retail price. You guys don’t get it. Tell me where I could have found this cheaper AT THE TIME I BOUGHT IT. Yes, there are better and cheaper computers now because the series my computer was in are no longer available.
U should get your money back and buy it at BestBuy!!!…1300 dollars is a ripoff. Bestbuy has the best deals
Congrats on your new laptop. Still don’t understand how I got ripped off when I clearly paid for something more.
@buckwheat40 Also, all the new A505 series don’t come with an SSD drive. Most of the new models come with 4gb of RAM and the price you listed compared to the other models in that range on Toshiba’s website don’t come with a dedicated graphics card. So, you may be getting a better cpu but there are clearly differences between whatever one you got and the one I have. Not that I care but if you’re going to come in and brag about what a great deal you got, expect me to call you on it.
@buckwheat40 I don’t see that model on Toshiba’s website, but good for you. Toshiba launched their next generation of laptops after I bought this one, but getting “ripped off” is relative. What was available yesterday at $xxx won’t be available today and what’s available today won’t be available tomorrow. Thanks for your comment.
I think you got ripped, I’m getting the A500 ST5607 with i5 intel for 849 , only thing it doesnt have is blue ray
more like 7 hours with the 12 cell battery
@drfrequency I believe it can, but you would have to call Toshiba tech support to ask. Right now, the new models came out (A500-ST series) and they all come with the i3 and i5′s. Go to the website and you can see which ones you can add, but I’m sure the options don’t end there. Again, you’d have to call Toshiba. I don’t have any plans of upgrading the laptop components as it would then be taking the value away from it. I leave the good stuff for desktops
Do you know if the Integrated Processor on this Laptop (the Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 3M Cache, 2.13 MHz, 1066 MHz FSB) can be Upgraded to an Intel Core 2 Duo T9900 (6M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) ? And also, wich would be the cost of this upgrade ?
Nice laptop, great overview. 5/5
Cheers

@tgharlem PC Connection for around 1300.
Where did you get this model from and how much did it cost?
@Ironhide0563 I really like the laptop. i don’t it’s possible to swap out for a better graphics card, but if you’re looking for a better graphics card, i’d get the qosmio series. but this laptop was a great price for the amount of features. the ssd is super fast. be sure to check out my dynadock u vid.
that’s a sweet laptop! it has EVERYTHING. it doesn’t sacrifice battery life for power.
can i upgrade its graphics card for gaming? and if I can will the battery life drain faster?
@Ironhide0563 Yeah, it does, but it really depends what kind of settings you use for power. They have an “eco utility” mode that keeps things modest while keeping the screen not too dim.
is it true that the battery lasts for 4-4.5 hours if i watch videos and 5.5-6 hours for standard use?
