  • I am in the process of installing a Intel X-25 V ssd in my 13″ MBP but I have a feeling if I update to the 1.7 firmware that I am going to run into problems with the MBP detecting my new drive. When I installed my current wd scorpio 320gb I had to rollback the firmware as the stock drive was the only drive my MBP would recognize.. My fingers are definitely crossed as the performance boost from a SSD is sooo sweet.

  • Hello! Do you only put the ssd inside and? install the OS without problem? Thanks.

  • @rodrigoloko77 I prefer the faster.

  • Yes.

  • If I upgraded the RAM would I see better speeds like in the video?

  • I prefer my iMac (Late 2009 Model) with 4GB Ram, 1TB Hard Disk and (21.5″) LED Screen.

  • 32s vs 74s ! Wow. Thank you, you convinced me to now go & invest for SSD for my MBP

  • ….and very expensive upgrade ;0)

  • to compare accurately u shouldn’t change the memory unless u change it for both machines !

  • JOHNMONK66: Dude either you have no idea what your on about or staking a guess. A ssd is alot faster due to no moving parts and not having a disk to search constantly the advantages of ssd over hardrive are multiple from lower running temps quieter operation and no parts to go wrong ssd work faster and boot faster depending on there write speed and make drives such as intel are twice as fast . You are talking crap because you have no facts to back your ridiculous claim It isn’t a myth.

  • ssd boots faster, but its a myth, ssd drives dont actually run faster in actual usage. In fact even though an ssd drive will start faster than a 7200 rpm drive, the 7200 rpm drive operates almost twice as fast

  • Whats the model name of these crucial ram?

  • Nice video, but please level off the sound. The intro music is about 30 decibels louder than all the narrative.

  • i recently bought a 4gb 2×2 800mhz ram from kingston . bought it for 59 dollars.
i dont really notice an improvement over my old 2gb 1×1 samsung ram.
for the price i paid, could it be that i just bought a pirated kingston ram?
or 59 dollar is normal price

  • awesome side by sides.

  • Thank you we are adding boot times to our tests…

  • That was awesome. Sucha boost in real workd performance due to having an SSD. I wish you showed the differences in Boot Times. Or the time it takes for photoshop or premeire to load and complete. That was simply awsome though. On my next computer I am definately getting an SSD as my OS, apps,a nd games dirve. and a traditional hard drive as for my media files.

  • We will be posting a complete how to with everything you need to know buy this weekend,, thank you for viewing

  • Hi can I ask a couple quick questions?

Are there two separate screw drivers needed? one for opening the back cover and one for removing the HD?

Can you tell me the specific models for each screwdriver?

    thanks!

  • Yes we have. Works Great :)

  • Have you installed the new EFI 1.7 update?

  • Wow~ That’s what we called the technical review. Excellent, Doc.

  • Exellent!

  • Looks good guys thumbs up
