Akai MPK25 Key Controller with MPC Pads – HipHopTools

www.hiphoptools.com The Akai Professional MPK25 is a portable keyboard controller with MPC production controls. Based closely on the MPK49, the first keyboard ever to feature MPC pads, the MPK25 scales down the keyboard by 24 keys and retains the utility, capability, and flexibility that makes the MPK49 one of the world’s hottest keyboards. Its smaller, more portable size makes the MPK25 the perfect travel companion. Its small footprint can fit in your lap on the couch or on a plane, enabling you to create tracks whenever inspiration strikes. All you need is your laptop and the MPK25. CREATIVE INPUT MPK25 combines a 25-key keyboard and 12 genuine MPC pads. The keyboard is semi-weighted and features aftertouch for expressive melodic control. The MPC pads are pressure and velocity-sensitive to capture every nuance of your creative concepts. The pads can access four banks of sounds, so you have 48 samples at your fingertips with the touch of a button. MPK25 places dedicated transport controls within your reach for easy control of some of the most important tracking and editing controls. The MPK25 has modulation and pitch-bend wheels for expressive musicality, and two assignable footswitch inputs enable you to connect an expression pedal or other continuous controller and a footswitch for momentary controls like patch change or start Q-LINK COMMAND One of the most important input devices on an MPC is its Q-Link assignable control section. • @VivaHonduras @VivaHonduras Its cool for now, i’m just listening to loads of music to get my inspiration, got another hobby now to : ) so im ok for now, but at some point i will want a sampler…although my family are selling the house and we will have about 20k left over to spend so i will try to convince my folks to get me a sampler XD peace out, keep the music coming all! : )

  • @zairuku nvm i missed the part that you wanted something that does not need to be connected to a computer. There is nothing under £100 that I know of because what you’re talking about is hardware and hardware is a standalone device and therefore will usually cost more than controllers. Sorry man

  • @zairuku the mpd 18. It’s a midi controller and has 16 pads just like an mpc. You can’t really control anything on it but that’s what the computer is for…it runs for £84.00

  • @TrayofCreamCakes No probs XD , we’re all out to learn ^_^

  • @zairuku Oh i get yah now, sorry mate

  • @ Oh i get yah now, sorry mate

  • @Madjef I have a huge question about this controller. If I buy this, do I need to buy a Sound Card, or it’s plug and play, just like that?

  • @TrayofCreamCakes Yer but doesnt it have to be connected to a PC permanantly? Cause i just wanna save sounds on it without having to conenct it to a PC

  • @zairuku The Korg Nanopad maybe ?

  • @zairuku The cheapest drum machine you’ll find is the Alesis SR-16 – 16 Bit Drum Machine for 185.00 Cdn. All akai mpc’s are expensive i got the 500 and it was close to 750.

  • Hi all…is there any MPC pad sampler…or just any sampler for less than £100…all im looking for is something that can save a sound onto a button and play it back, idc about editing it : /

  • Does anyone know a good place to get stands that hold your keyboard & laptops in the UK like at 0:40 (iv tried ebay)

  • guys, is there any use connecting it to the audio interface first?

  • BTW, the aftertouch is dope.. Like hitting a pedal or vibrato on guitar, you can go all day with aftertouch. MPC pads are a little awkard position, cool to have but I do all the drum loops in software and trigger drum variations from the APC.

  • i just used the MPK25 and an APC40 for our debut album, thats it, plus Reason 4, Live 8 Suite and Cubase 5. Reason for the musicality in its subtractors, Live for its APC mapped controls makes eMusic making live rather than production based… Wicked album coming out!!!

  • i want the 49 but i just bought a new synth so it will have to wait. this is such a nice keyboard :)

  • Guys, the MPK is strickly a Keyboard controller. The sounds are triggered from your computer or laptop. USB connects the two and sounds from you computer or laptop are then assigned to the pads and keys. THE MPK25 OR 49 DON’T HAVE ANY INTERNAL SOUNDS AT ALL. Its a great piece of gear if you like the style of production that the original MPC60 and others made popular than you will like this.

  • nice..thx

  • i bought mine online on amazon for bout
    $250 mane

  • is it just a midi controller or does it have some sound librarys on itself?

  • unfortunately no,

  • price?

  • mikemhz
    same here. MPC? vs. MPK?

well the mpc is a real instrument u can make an instrumental on it without a computer if you wish,
the mpk is jus a midi controler there are thousands of other midi controlers to choose from it just controls midi played into a daw on ur computer
if u use a good daw like cubase, ableton, reaper or sonar and some good vstis and vst effects (which is all very expensive) makin music on a computers ok but work flow on an mpc is better (no mouse clicking)

  • you said mpk49 you fag
