Introduction to PSK31 – Receiving
I have cleaned up the first two minutes of the close captioning. I hope to fix the rest of the captions. Randy I will show you how to get Digipan up and running in a few minutes receiving PSK31 without needing any interface boxes or cables. I have even uploaded a video of PSK activity on 20 meters for you to practice receiving PSK31 and using Digipan. This is not hard, it is fun. Randy PSK Info www.psk31.com Digipan www.digipan.net

This is pretty cool! I’m surprised I haven’t heard of this before. What about video? Even if it is real choppy? I guess its too late to change the protocol now.
Thank you sir. I just recently got licensed and enjoy all that I am learning from your videos. Hope to hear you on the airwaves one day. KF5GGA 73

@outatime1955 ipods can hook up to radios?
Another great video, Randy, thanks…
Great & helpful video. Thanks.
it’s a good idea to use LOWER case when doing PSK31, being vario code the most common letters are smaller in bit size, thus faster to send. and less prone to errors. Just a little hint

Randy, what a great video. I’m not a licensed ham, but my father bought a Kenwood R2000 when I was a teenager, and really got into listening. I still have the receiver, and recently got it out, dusted it off and have been toying around with it. I downloaded Digipan, and it works great on my Vista machine.
I guess it’s about time for me to study up and work on getting licensed. Thanks for all the great videos. -Bob
vista and digipan workes for me too!
thanks it seems like fun. Im currently working on my general license. i found a realy interesting app for ipod touch called ipsk31. bought it and it eliminates the need for a computer. cant wait to get my license. this video is extreamly informative by the way.

I watched this video and had PSK 31 running in just a few minutes. WHAT FUN!! As I already have Ham Radio Deluxe, I used that instead of Digipan. I did this after sunset so no reception on 20 meters but I found alot on 80…It also surprised me how I could get such great reception here in the Southern Tier of NY from VE stations in western Canada to short hop stations from Ohio and they all were running 30 watts or less. Thanks for this video Randy. Great job! 73 de KB2RMC
I use Vista and digipan works perfectly for me.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I tried installing digipan on vista but some components of the program dont work like the waterfall drive component so i have to run it in windows 2000 in virtual pc 2007. Just a heads up.
Excellent Video… Very informative!
I have a Scanner/Radio that can receive these signals, but not generate them. I will have to mess around with it some.
I’m not a ham but have an SSB receiver and this got me receiving in no time!!
Excellent, clears up a few things for me. Hope to wk u on PSK, 73 de KA1YBS
It is part of the tuning display. Not really needed with the AFC. Randy
You have the knack of making things both easy AND interesting to follow.Good man!Tell me though. What is the little squiggly multi coloured thingy in the bottom right hand corner of the waterfall?
Great software & nice video.
Please advise on other F.O.C. software available for download.

Thanks I got this working for the first time with your help most apreshiated!
True, not the best mode for PSK, but it works if someone wants to try it out with a friend. Randy
