  I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I would not blame Xrite for Apple Cinema Displays being too bright out of the box. People feel Apple monitors are great for graphics. We feel otherwise. If anything Apple should have told you there monitors are not great for calibrating as they are too bright, they only have brightness control – no RGB or Contrast controls at all.
