It may be used as a reference platform for watch systems, a personal display for personal area networks, or as a wireless sensor node for remote data collection. Based on the CC430F6137 sub 1 GHz RF SoC, the eZ430-Chronos is a complete CC430-based development system contained in a watch. This tool features a 96 segment LCD display and provides an integrated pressure sensor and 3-axis accelerometer for motion sensitive control. The integrated wireless feature allows the Chronos to act as a central hub for nearby wireless sensors such as pedometers and heart rate monitors. The eZ430-Chronos offers temperature and battery voltage measurement and is complete with a USB-based CC1111 wireless interface to a PC. Key Features: – Wearable development tool – Internal CC430 memory available for data storage – Integrated 3-axis accelerometer for motion sensitive control – USB-RF access point for PC communication and automation – Low cost system at $49 – Integrated pressure sensor for altitude measurement Chronos & MSP430 Tools www.ti.com More information about the EZ430 Chronos: www.ti.com www.ti.com Order a Chronos today: www.ti-estore.com TI MCU on Facebook: www.facebook.com

I just ordered one and am super excited to get to playing with it!
Or even more awesome – use a Duemilanove as an access point to services such as Pachube
Hooking this up to an Arduino board would be awesome! Wonder if the wireless module could be hooked up to a Duemilanove to send/receive data – could use it as an access point for looking up data online, reviewing data from sensors connected up to the board etc. I think the USB module includes a USB->Serial IC (possibly MAX3221 style) – if its doing that could possibly bypass it and connect it straight to the serial interface on the Duemilanove baord.
I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these.
After OMAP-L hawkbaord now this will be in my showcase…:-)..F**king awesome…
it CAN communicate with other chronos watches. it’s fully reprogrammable so it can pair with anything with a compatible radio.
so it can’t communicate with other chronos watch devices?
that’s disappointing.
I ordered one today, although out of stock at the moment. Can’t wait to play with it!
