How To Fix Plasma TV (Samsung & Others) – Plasma TV Repair
This video will, once again, take the Honest out of Samsung. This is a how to video showing you how to fix a Samsung 42″ Plasma HDTV. This video demonstrates how to remove faulty Y-Board and replace with a new Y-Board. This video will show you how to replace the Y-Board Upper or Y-Board Lower. This HDTV all of a sudden began showing rolling vertical bars on the top half of the screen. If you are having similar issues on the top of the screen, you should watch this video on how to replace the Y-Board Upper. If you have lines on the bottom half of the screen, simply follow the same instructions to replace the Y-Board Lower. If the entire screen is messed up, replace both! @DishonestApparel Hi, what about a 42″ plasma hd ready tv that has a bluish verticle line going all the way down the right or left hand side of the screen…
If this was a screen this is how I’d explain it: [l ] – with the l being the bluish vertical line…

@brianerrigo Looks like an issue more in line with the LCD repair video we have. These are the only 2 videos we’ve repaired so our knowledge begins and ends there…

@WhiskeyFoxtrotTango I believe if you look up the part, it will tell you which other TV’s it is compatible with. You may want to do random selection of Google Search combinations for your TV model number and ‘board’ ‘y board’ etc. Unfortunately my knowledge of TV repair begins and ends with the 2 TV’s we happened to fix…
My 7 month old Samsung PN50B650 recently started displaying very thin horizontal lines across the screen, at first only one about 3 inches from the bottom, then 3 more lines appeared a few days later close to each other. At this rate I expect more. Are these boards somewhat universal? I cannot find any resources regarding what type of board (model no.) I would need to put in the TV if I am unable to get a solution out of Samsung. This video alone gives me hope, and for that I thank you.

I have a Samsung Plasma HP-R452C. A 42″. And It has a thick vertical black line going down the central. What could be wrong? Someone told me that its the Central Invertor, but I want to make sure before I buy the part

@MegaEngins Possibly. I think it may be a different board causing it to go black. Did you ever have those red/green lines appear, or did the entire screen go blank? Check out our LCD Blank Screen Video. That may help…

@fotograferdave I am not 100% Sure. I did some research before I found the part that fixes this one…I don’t think LCDs have the same boards as Plasmas…
Does this work for LCD screens also? I have the streaks at the top and a big 3 inch grey circle at the bottom. If you can help that will be great. Thanks
the bottom half of my tv is all pink and red with green, is this the same problem? top half is perfect but bottom half is all messed up. whats wrong with it?
